During the months of July and August 5-day the Laoch na dTonnta surf camps, meaning Hero of the Waves will be in full swing. Book ASAP as places fill up quickly.

The summer surf camps are a 5 day course. Monday to Friday, 2 hours surf lesson everyday, all equipment is included (surfboard and warm wetsuit), beginner friendly, and a great experience.

The surf lessons will be taught using a blend of English and Gaeilge. No matter what the level of Gaeilge everyone will understand. Our Instructors are very experienced and have a huge passion for both surfing and Gaeilge.

Book as early as possible because they fill up very quickly.

The camps are suited to any skill level and swimming ability. During the week the kids will learn all about surfing and water safety. Surf camps are a brilliant way to introduce your kids to surfing or improve skills for the more experienced surfers. All the parents need to do is bring their kid or kids and help them in the wetsuit, then we will do the rest. The camp will start at 9.30am and finish at 11.30am, Monday to Friday. (the times may vary slightly due to tide and surf conditions)

The week involves mostly time spent in the ocean but, we also mix it up with beach games and ocean learning. In our (biased) opinion and based on the feedback of parents these camps are hands down the best week of the summer for the majority of kids that take part.

Cost is €125 (per person) for the 5 days.

The age limit for the camps are 10-16 years old.

A deposit of €50 per child will be required to book a place. The deposit must be paid when booking to secure your spot. Deposit is non-refundable. Once booked on to the camp you cannot swap around to other camps without losing your deposit. There are limited spaces. You can book for several places at once. Be sure to book a place fast, as the camps fill up quickly.

The remaining balance must be paid on the first morning of the camp. We can only accept cash at the beach due to terrible internet on the beach. There is an ATM in Belmullet town.

With children under the age of 12 we ask that a parent or guardian remain at the beach for the duration of the lessons. This is to help the instructor if needed. It is a great time for a quite walk along the beautiful beach, relaxing on the sand or even a swim!
